A second citizenship does not freeze travel rules
Nationality, passport issuance, visitor visa exemptions and permission to immigrate are separate decisions. Check the destination, passport category, purpose and current rule before committing to an investment.
The EU mechanism is a legal risk, not a country closure notice
The Council’s revised visa-suspension mechanism includes investor citizenship without a genuine link as a ground for suspending a country’s visa exemption. The existence of that ground does not itself suspend every Caribbean passport, revoke citizenship or end a programme. Country-specific measures and entry conditions must be checked separately.
The phase-out request is verified; enacted closure is a different claim
Antigua and Barbuda’s 7 July government statement reports a Commission letter dated 25 June requesting phase-out by 1 June 2028, with a 24-month transition. The government says its programme will continue. This is primary evidence of the reported request, not the complete letter, an enacted closure or an actual visa suspension. The 13 July participating-heads statement separately records coordinated EU engagement.
The U.S. January immigrant-visa pause ended
The State Department’s 28 August notice states that the January pause affecting 75 nationalities was no longer in effect as of 21 August 2026 under the CLINIC court order. Its tourist-visa category was separate. Do not keep presenting the ended pause as current, or infer from its end that all proclamations, screening or individual immigrant-visa restrictions disappeared.
Check the journey you actually intend
For a short visit, verify current visitor requirements and the travel document you will use. For moving or working, identify a separate residence or immigration basis. Ask which rule governs your nationality, category and filing date. Preserve the authority’s dated answer; a country count or a marketing promise cannot guarantee future admission.
